As you may know, the Senate has killed the language defunding Obamacare and sent the Continuing Resolution back to the House. The House Republicans can SURRENDER to Harry Reid and Barack Obama and fund Obamacare, or they may STAND THEIR GROUND. If you want to defund Obamacare, you need to call / email / fax / Facebook / Tweet your Congressperson as soon as you can. You need to let them know you sincerely appreciate their courage and perseverence, and remind them that you expect them to HOLD THE LINE and NOT BACK DOWN to Harry Reid and Barack Obama on defunding Obamacare. When the House bill to defund Obamcare the Senate was expected to read it, discuss it, and vote against by Friday or Sat. Nope. They voted on it like they did the original, so fast that no one had a chance to read it. Do you want to know why? I'll bet you already know. Their phones were ringing, their email boxes were full and the postal carriers were still dumping more letters from their constituents on their desk. Harry Reid wanted the Senate to vote for Obamacare before they heard too much from their back home voters. 19 Republican Senators were joined by 20 other Senators in a vote to defund Obmacare, But don't count on those "other 20".. Harry Reid most likely gave the permission to vote for Obamacare because they were up for election in the next election cycle and their votes weren't needed to assure cloture. Bottom line is we can only count on the 19; but the ones who voted for cloture, esp the Republicans, need a serious opponent in the next election primary. But now, the House that voted to defund the bill has to write another bill to send to the Senate to reject. One suggestion is to send it piece meal, one topic at a time. Give Senators the opportunity to vote aye an the sections they like and ney on they ones oppose. (We are being told there are some good proposals in the bill; some that have GOP support. but her's the bottom line.) Anyone want to bet the the Speaker of the House Boehner, would allow this. No way, Jose. Besides all the technical stuff, like how many doctors will move on to greener passtures, death panels, etc, it is more expensive if for no other reason, coverage for 11 to 3o million non-citizens No matter where our hearts are, you gotta know we can't safely add to the $17 trillion debt for any reason.
