Sandy--Just a question..Do you routinely give your
foals enemas right after they are born?? Do you milk the mares and feed the baby
right away instead of waiting for him to get up and do it himself?? I'm
working for a quarter horse breeding operation right now and they do things so
differently from what I have ever done. What are your thoughts.
Also...any thoughts on foal imprinting??? Thanks! Sandy

& foal
Wow Crocket - I wish Ihad
the withal to buy both. We had a Fakher El Din daughter whom we lost in
foaling a few years ago. I loved her more than I can say. I found out this
week that in May I will not have a job. So I have to restructure our own
breeding business and start to teach again if I don't want to go back into
retail or banking. YUCK! I will do what it takes, but it certainly means no
new horses for a while. Darn. Well, gee, let me know what happens with them.
Never know - perhaps we will book a dozen mares to Sal. He is also straight
Egyptian but he is a better athlete than show horse, so the show people with
all the money don't care for him, even though he did go Region 2 Top 5 as a
western horse a few years back. Not stretchy, snaky, hooky enough, I guess.
