Okay now I have to throw in my opinion (I know everyone has one..). I
have an Abetta. I LOVE it! It holds up just fine, is as well made as any
of those over priced saddles and fits my mare and I GREAT! Down the road
I might go with a treeless, but for now I think the Abetta is a WONDERFUL
saddle for ANY beginner!
The price is great, it is lightweight, and durable. I was afraid I would
have to stay with the English saddles because I too am a heavyweight. The
westerns were to heavy. I wanted the high pommel, but not the horn. I
couldn't afford something that cost more than my horse, so I thought I
might have to have one custom made and wait six months for it. Then I
found the Abetta.
There are a couple of endurance riders in my area that love the Abetta
as well. Here in Florida, I am finding a LOT of trail riders, and
"thinking of doing endurance" riders who have an Abetta. Everyone I have
talked to likes their Abetta. Yes it is an inexpensive saddle, but I
wouldn't call it a cheap one!
I recommend it for anyone "thinking of doing endurance"!
