Don't turn your flash light on!  I did that on my
first 100.  I behind Darolyn Butler and both our
horses spooked!  It's kind of funny now...to me
anyway.  Darolyn was very kind about it.  She
patiently explained how horses see very well in the
dark and the light doesn't help them one little bit.

I enjoy riding in the dark...well...except when I was
along that last 12 miles of my first 100 (a million
years ago now).  I kept seeing bad men coming after me
and both my horse and I were too tired to out run
them.  Thankfully, there were no bad people at all.
