I have used the human heart monitors on my horse at the vet checks with excellent success. They are accurate.
It is the same watch that is used on the equine model. I extend the elastic band to fix my horses chest. At the stops it is quickly secured around his chest with the fittings. I secure the watch just above the "pad" and instead of having to stop and hold the monitor in place you have a constant reading while you sponge your horse. It is a wonderful monitoring device to keep on your horse during the holds and after the ride in allowing you to monitor his heart rate while he rests and eats. Pat Oliva I do not use them on the trail. It is easy to carry with you The whole thing can be bought for $49. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
