I have used the human heart monitors on my horse at the vet checks with 
excellent success.  They are accurate.  

It is the same watch that is used on the equine model.  I extend the elastic 
band to fix my horses chest.  At the stops it is quickly secured around his 
chest with the fittings.  I secure the watch just above the "pad" and instead 
of having to stop and hold the monitor in place you have a constant reading 
while you sponge your horse.
It is a wonderful monitoring device to keep on your horse during the holds 
and after the ride in allowing you to monitor his heart rate while he rests 
and  eats. Pat Oliva
