[RC] Dry hooves

Hi All,  I tried to send a reply to Teresa and RC yesterday but evidently it didn't go through.  I had the same questions re: dry hooves on my horses and  asked my farrier what he used last week.  He said he has had great success with "used motor oil".  I personally have not verified this by seeing his horses or seeing him do it.  Has anyone heard of this "cheap" method and would there be any detrimental effects???  I won't try it until there is more info.  Thanks, Lindak
