AERC Board of Directors:
Considering the statement by the organizers ,that the participants in the Master Series Competition may use a different equine in each race I feel that it is prudent that the AERC issue a public Statement condemning this series of events. With the enormity of the possible monetary award the welfare of the horse is not even of secondary consideration. I there for request that the AERC Board of Directors immediately discuss this matter and arrange for a voice vote on the propriety of allowing any AERC Ride to be associated with this series. I would suggest a broad statement from the AERC that they do not approve of the concept. With such a statement the AERC so notifies its members that the multi-horse concept is not in the best interests of the sport. A furtherance of the statement from the Board could include a definitive announcement that the AERC philosophy discourages any such deleterious use of the horse.
