> When we got home, my Momma told me that if I had something negative to say about someone, that person should be the FIRST person who hears my words.  Well, I can tell you, living up to Momma's Rule was probably the hardest thing I ever did,  because I realized that the only time I was brave enough to "say to their face what I would say behind their back" was when I was speaking the truth with RESPECT, and most of the time my condemning words were not about respecting the other person, oh my no!   Momma's Rule has made a huge difference in my life, because it has taught me to respect all people, even if I don't like what they do,  that you can disagree without being disagreeable, and that what I think is something said "just in jest" wouldn't be so funny if I had to say it face to face.

Wow!  That is wonderful.  I wish all people were being raised this way.  Thanks for sharing this.
