Believe me, removal was the first thing I asked about.  Nope.  Can't be done.  They say that removal only stimulates the joint to form a new, bigger spur.  :(

Also, a bone spur IS arthritis, from what I've been told.  Boney changes to the joint.  Ugh.   :(

Thanks though.  I'm hoping that she'll prove tougher than we think and spur won't bug her too much....maybe with Legend injections she'll do alright.

Don't lose hope. I had a horse get kicked in the knee repeatedly (trailer fight) and one vet said he would definately get arthritis, even though the initial Xrays were clean. He was re Xrayed a few months later and there are NO changes on the Xray and he is sound - he just had one helluva bruised knee.
