Just have to reinforce Angie's post on Beet Pulp - I have used it as a HAY
extender and my horses did fine when I replaced half their hay ration with
beet pulp -- I had three and I just mixed it up and dumped it in an old
bathtub - they licked it clean and I swear if they could talk they'd take it
over the grass/alfalfa I was feeding them!

Just in case Susan meant it when she said she's gone till after exams...I
feel really confident I can answer this question like she would...read my
lips..."BEET PULP". >g< It cost less, is far more like foriage than
grain, can't feed them too much of it...and it's Susan's favorite answer
for all around questions. :-)

P.S. I had one of my only tie-ups during what you're going through. I
bought some really crappy hay to tide me over till they cut and the horse
didn't eat it. A little reading indicated (could be wrong here I was
going on clues) that lack of foriage could contribute (I hadn't upped his
grain). So...feed beet pulp and keep'em moving not stalled!

Angie
