I am wondering whether a particular product would be o.k. for human use, but I am not sure how widely available it is - It is called Bag Balm and its original use (as identified on the product) is for cuts, inflammation and sore, chapped teats in dairy cattle. However, many people, including myself, use this product on their horses for cracked heels, etc. It is a great product which has been around for a long time and some people are even using it on themselves for dry, chapped skin. I am wondering whether is is safe for human use...The only thing listed on the container are the active ingredients: "8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate 0.3% in a Petrolatum, Lanolin Base".
Do any of the scientists, veterinarians, etc. out there know what that long active ingredient is???
