Is there anyone in Endurance Land who has seen, ridden or owned a Sommer Oakfield Endurance saddle?? It sounds like they are a fairly new saddle from Germany. They have flexible panels and look like a very well made saddle.

Hi Lauren,

I recently went through the saddle search. (sore back problems) And the Oakfield Endurance Saddle was one I tried.

The saddle really reminded me of my old McClellen (spelling) saddle.  (only better of course)
I loved the rigging.  However, I think they need more padding on the seat.  I could feel the tree (just sitting in it) and it caused some sore butt bones. I was only able to ride in it twice though, (the week trial period went quick) a 12 mile and a 24 mile training ride.  But in the same token, A few times I felt like I was on a spring seat. When my horse would do the "4 hoof boogie" or the "Tigger" bounce, I felt like I was going to be bounced over his head.  I think it would just take some time to get used to.  Only riding in it twice I couldn't say 100% yes or no on liking the saddle.

Best of Luck, it may work better for you than I.
