On I think he understands endurance riding just fine, but his definition is not quite the same as ours. As Tom has stated it's come a long way from the 80's when he got his metal and somewhere along the way the FEI has gone it's own direction. That seems to be more and more clear. Stone has an agenda and the preservation of the American tradition of endurance riding is not part of it.

Actually, Michael Stone was running the meeting afterwards and trying to tellthem "lame horses are never acceptable" and that they had to make changes, etc. Contrary to what a lot of people think,

I'm not labeling him a bad guy, just one that doesn't seem to understand the essense of endurance riding.  Does he not realize that minimum times, and insisting that courses be highly visible for spectators contribute to lameness?  Does he think the riders *want* lame horses?  He can't have everything.  Sounds like he's got us running 100 miles on a course that he wouldn't dare trot a hunter jumper 2 miles on.
