I have to reply to this one......I won the NE in
1986 and was 25th in the nation (old system). I only had a crew at two
rides that year.....one was a 100 miler in Canada that I won and won BC- my ex
husband crewed for me and we didn't speak all day!!!
The second ride I had a crew for was Old Dominion
50. My crew was Brian Weaver two time winner of the OD 100...Super, eh???
Except he missed two vet checks and forgot the electrolytes!!!!! I won
anyway.
What is a crew worth- well, I guess it depends on
how bad you need one!!
