A friend of mine has a 6 year old Swedish WB mare that is very very sluggish. Getting
her to go forward is alot of work, and the gal is getting very frustrated. I
suggested doing a blood workup, which she will do this coming week.

She feeds her 1/3 alfalfa and 2/3 barley oat hay. Select II vitamins and a supplement
of oats (3 scoops). I've ridden the mare, and yeah, she's not an easy one to get
going.

Skin, coat are healthy. Weight is good. Regularly dewormed etc. The mare is well
cared for. But I am telling you she walks on a long rein as if she's gonna lay down
and go to sleep.

Any other ideas or suggestions...I ask here because I know ya'll are very very into
nutrition more than most.
