HA!  Haven ridden geldings, mares, and stallions  in endurance, including
 3500 miles with the stallion  FA AL BADI+/,   I'll be the first to say they
 are whimps!  Mares are not only tougher, they take care of themselves
better
 and watch the trail (IMO of course ;) ).

BTW I have an outstanding mare who just did both days at Old Glory in TX for
 sale if anyone is looking for a great horse that likes to go alone!
