Not being sure that a question or comment did not occured
already 10 times in the past years may inhibit a new subscriber.
Consulting the FAQ before to ask a question is part of the netiquette.

Archives are kinds of not well sorted FAQs, but a coupled search
engine is a powerful sorting system. Nevertheless, complete
archives would be better. Due to Wintel periodic crashes, I have 
repeatedly lost my mailbox in the past years, unfortunarely.

I try to obtain the previous archives maintained by John Quintana at
Argonne National Laboratory. Any advice welcome.
