Sorry if this provokes 2 new unsubscribing.
Apart from few eclipses, the Rietveld mailing list archives
were always available. This is only the nth reinstalling. The
Rietveld FAQ is hard to write because most answers were
unfortunately sent by private emails (unfortunately in my
opinion, but see previous discussions on this thread in the
archives ;-), and also because some subjects are not
completely stabilized.

Modern mailing lists are now highly tunable, and may allow
archives and email address of participants masked for
non subscribers. Moreover, subscribers have the choice
for receiving articles by mail or not (just seing them on
the web) or receiving a summary each week.
    see for instance http://www.egroups.com/
It is now quite easy to create and maintain a new forum
with those facilities, just do it. You just have to pay a very
small fee for not being submerged by advertising.

We could consider the possibility to re-open the list on this
modern system, with guarantees about privacy.
