Suppose that you synthesize your sample today. you may have a good X-ray pattern in less than a month, probably. Then the neutron pattern will probably not be measured before 6 months or 1 year. Possibly, some (normal) people publish their paper well before any neutron pattern can be measured. This can be a good explanation of the limited use of such double refinements. Delays are even longer if you expect synchrotron + neutron data. Armel
