Dear friends,

        I'm a Masters student (finishing soon in February) from the
Crystallographic Lab here in Sao Paulo (Brazil). We just finished our
reform, so now the lab is clean and ready to use again. The walls are all
white, so now we need some nice pictures. Therefore I will ask you all if
it would be possible for you to send me some nice pictures to put on the
wall. Pictures from great crystallographers (Laue, Bragg, etc...), or
other pictures related to a chrystallographic laboratory would be
especially appreciated. All pictures must be public domain, FREEWARE :-))
so that no problems arise in the future concerning copyright laws.

        We are looking especially for:

- Photos of physics, chemists or particulary important
crystallographers (can be coins or stamps photos too - I have a nice one
from Germany, a celebration of the 100 years X-ray discover);
- Cristaline Structures (models);
- Natural Cristals;
- Fractal Structures;
- Structure of proteins;
- Special Materials (quasi crystals, fulleens,...)
- Etc, etc...

        If possible, send them to me in DIGITAL FORMAT so it will not be
too expensive for you (if you have a nice picture in your lab, scan it, if
possible, and send it in JPG or a similar format). If there is any cost, let
me know, and I will pay for it. We will print them out here. I searched the
internet and there many wonderful pictures, but the resolution is quite low,
so they don't print out very well in 40x50cm or bigger formats (especially
with photos of people).

        If I recieve some pictures I will be very grateful to all of you. If
not, thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail.

Sincerely,

Hannes Fischer
