I must recognize half a lie.

ISI has a strategy of conquest of the french market
about the Web of Science. They offer 2 months free
and illimited access (starting a few days ago). For
supporting this strategy, ISI has designed the 301
french laureates according to citation criteria :
http://www.isinet.com/emea/tourdefrance/laureates.htm
In this list, the laureates were selected for 22 broad
disciplines, and it is taken account of the fact that
some disciplines may lead to few citations. They
win a diploma ;;-), if they come to receive it at a
demonstration of the WoS ;;;-)).

All that to explain why I have access to the WoS.

Of course, crystallography is not a discipline, and
powder diffraction even less. So I decided to design
myself the powder diffraction laureates ;;;;-))). I may
send them a diploma if they wish ;;;;;;-)))).

The lie is there : between 1975 and 1990, the search
was made by using the words "powder" AND "diffraction".
Before that, I performed also a full more restrictive
search with 4 words : "powder" AND "diffraction" AND 'structure"
AND "determination". Then, when I wanted to complete
the 1991-2001 period with only "powder" AND "diffraction",
the WoS replied that the "time allocated for this server
was over"... Ooooops.

Well, you see, 2 months free trial with something unsaid:
a limitation somewhere in the system...

But I promise : if I recover access, I will finish the job ;-).

Or somebody could do it and send me the result ?

Best regards,

  Armel

PS- Maybe your country is the next ISI target. Be prepared
to receive a diploma.
