As is well known, the Scherrer eq. is generally used for calculating the average crystallite size from XRD profile.
But what I'm not sure is if this equation is valid for very very tiny particles. Sometimes one need to measure the particle size of nano-sized particle or atomic clusters like quasi-crystal. How small particle size can be calculated using the Scherrer equation? Can anyone help me? or give me any referencing literature? Thanks in advance Young-Sang Na * In addition, please let me know the site where both high temperature XRD and accelerated detector system are under operation.
