Position for Ph.D. student

INVESTIGATIONS ON METAL CORROSION INDUCED BY ATMOSPHERE AND AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS

The MPI-FKF at Stuttgart offers a position for a Ph.D. student (up to three years), in cooperation with the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and the Daimler AG. The research project aims at investigations on metal corrosion in different environments. The research involves model experiments and chemical synthesis of corrosion products and their characterization with state of the art analytics, in particular high resolution XRPD, PDF analysis, vibrational and impedance spectroscopy etc. Of special interest are classes of materials relevant for the automotive industry. Funding of the position is provided by the Daimler AG where the candidate will be employed. The position is immediately available. The successful applicant will receive a salary according to the funding guidelines for doctoral researchers of the Daimler AG.

The candidate should have a strong background in any field of chemistry or material sciences. Short motivational letter and a short CV should be sent to Prof. Dr. Robert Dinnebier (r.dinneb...@fkf.mpg.de) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Andreas Hintennach (andreas.hintenn...@daimler.com) preferably by E-mail.
