Dear Colleagues,

These strange times have been particularly difficult for early career
researchers. It therefore gives me great pleasure to advertise the Materials
Science virtual workshop organised by students and post-docs at the
Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und prüfung (BAM) and Université Bourgogne
Franche-Comté (UBFC). The event will take place online on the afternoons of
11th and 12th May 2021.

One positive side of the pandemic has been a reduction in the usual
hierarchies, and the artificial barriers between fields. The organisers have
prepared four exciting cross-disciplinary sessions, each of which is opened by
a senior international researcher:

    * Organic-inorganic hybrid thin films
    * Forest biomaterials - inspiration from nature
    * Self-assembly of nanoclusters and PDF method
    * MOFs and mechanochemistry

The detailed schedule is here:

The participation in the event is free of charge , and the workshop was
organised in a completely open, internationalist spirit. I therefore encourage
all interested parties to attend. Registration is easy, and can be done here:

Best wishes,

Simon, on behalf of Anna-Maria Elert (BAM), Siham Mouhtadi (UBFC), Max
Rautenberg (BAM) and Daniel Szczerba (UBFC).
