Hi Maggie,

I'm just wondering, is there any reason why you are trying this out with Tomcat. If you're just learning RIFE and want to get a feel for it, you can run the Jetty container that's bundled with the Jumpstart and with RIFE/Crud (and with eCalendar and Simple Blog). You can then just experiment there.

When you have something working, then you can move it to Tomcat if you want.

It's difficult to comment on why things don't seem to be working for you. I suspect that you just copied the template html files to the web directory and you are trying to serve them directly? That will not work, they belong in the classpath and should be instantiated from within elements. You also need the rife jar itself and setup web.xml for it. All this is explained in the Usersguide and the Jumpstart has it all working out of the box.

If you still have problems, please post the code that's not working, and an explanation of your setup (directory structure and so on). Otherwise it's difficult to guess what went wrong.

Best regards,

Geert

Hi Greet,

What I am doing is to create a webapp of this example in tomcat. I created a directory structure based on the user's guide and when I try to run it, the arrival page doesn't get transformed. I don't know what the cause of this.

I guess I just want to know besides the 2 jars (class files and template files) I downloaded from the web, what else is also provided by the framework. If I need to create a site structure for my application's crud operation, what should I create besides the bean class and a addition to a site declaration.

I don't know if I made myself clear or not. I really appreciate that you spend your time to help me out.

Thanks,
Maggie
