it depends on how you want to use it.

Nothing prevents you from using any Java library in RIFE, I can't comment on the details of using TopLink though. However, the features that integrate across layers (constraints, content management framework, RIFE/Crud, ...) will not use TopLink since they rely on our persistence engine. Since that totally builds on standard JDBC, there's no reason why you can't use it alongside with TopLink.
