Is is present when you do System.getProperty("derby.system.home") in
Windows?

I'm not sure whether this is a Rife question or a Tomcat question,
but maybe someone has seen this before and can help me out.
Simply put, we set environment variables (like, for example,
DERBYDB_HOME) but my Rife app cannot see them.
I fetch them with calls like this in my Rep startup code:
HierarchicalProperties PP = Rep.getProperties();
String DERBYDB_HOME = PP.getValueString ("derby.system.home");
This works fine on Linux, where I set env.vars in Tomcat's
startup.sh, but it does not work on Windoze.
We've tried settign them in Tomcat's startup.bat, and also
in Tomcat's Windoze manager GUI.
Does this sound familiar to anyone ?
thx much
