Geert and Stefan,
Thanks a lot for your advices : i'm going to look further to the links
you gave me, and to Ammentos.
I'm actually starting the developpement of a web site, and i took 2
decisions : using RIFE for the web framework, and moving from
Hibernate for the persistence. My own experience taught me that using
Hibernate without XDoclet is a nightmare, but configuring XDoclet to
work with Hibernate is awful too, not to mention debugging your
persistence code...
Although I like Ammentos in theory, it is just not mature enough for a
production environment. So I would not advise using it, unless you can
invest some effort in fixing bugs that occur within Ammentos. Why don't
you use the RIFE's builtin persistence instead?
PS : Geert, thanks a lot for taking the time to personnaly answer to
everyone, besides running UWYN, developping RIFE, posting to forums,
playing music, travelling to Las Vegas.... Where do you find the time
? Are there several Geert Bevin ? :-)
lol, I wrote a *very* similar PS under my last post (my theory was that
Geert has a twin brother with the same name), but in the end I removed
it, because I didn't want to sound too much like a groupie. ;)
I guess it's a lifestyle question. You can't keep that speed up for your
entire life, but sometimes you just need to do something right. And RIFE
is obviously a project that deserves to be done right. :]
