Tyler,

you put the metadata in it's own package, for example for:
com.warfrog.portal.beans.Article
com.warfrog.portal.beans.metadata.ArticleMetaData

This is not supported, you have to use exactly the same name as the bean and then only add the MetaData suffix. In this case that gives:
com.warfrog.portal.beans.ArticleMetaData
