Hi Steve,

An article like this will most certainly be very useful to many people. However, going from Struts to RIFE is quite a bigger leap than going from Struts to Stripes. First of all, Stripes is an action based framework like Struts, while RIFE is a hybrid component-action framework. Also, RIFE is not just a web framework, but a full stack. Even if only the web part is used, many new concepts are introduced, even the template engine is fundamentally different. It certainly don't want to put anybody off in writing this, but it will certainly be a lot longer than 3 pages.

Sadly I can't help out at all since I have had very little exposure to Struts and make my living mostly from using RIFE. I can assist you as well as possible though while you adopt RIFE and learn it. Actually, you would probably be the perfect person to write this since you can easily go through all the important steps and identify the hurdles. My suggestion would be (if you've got the motivation and time to do so), that you embark on this journey yourself and document the important steps as you go through them. You'll see that receive a lot of help and support from the community when you have questions.

Best regards,

Geert

While browsing the Java News I noticed this article:

Like probably most of the Web Application building java guys out there I make my living using Struts. I have had my eye on RIFE for almost a year now and would love to see something like this that would help guys like me get started with RIFE. I would be happy to help but as I have no experience
I think I would need help. Any suggestions?
