Hi Scott, Thanks for your interest in Rifidi. I think I can answer some of your questions. The Tag Streaming utility was primarily an ad-hoc developer tool that was put together to simulate the flow of tags through an RFID reader. What you could do with it is basically define a custom xml file that has a list of tags (called a batch) and then define a wait interval (called a wait) between when batches appear and dissapear on a certain antenna or reader.
This was primarily a transitional tool to do flow testing and troubleshoot our readers. We deprecated it and removed it because it was a standalone SWT app and was kind of a forgotten and unused child among our apps which are all on eclipse. Also we now have a much better tool called Rifidi Designer to do this work. With Designer you can basically load a scenario and set up loads of tags and use it in a 3D enviroment similar to a real world scenario. I am not sure on your exact requirements but Designer is based on the Rifidi Engine and thus has support for all readers that our Emulator Release does. It also allows you to define large tag data sets and basically push them on a simple supply chain scene. You can simply speed up the conveyor if you wish to have data flow through the reader faster. Likewise if you would like more than one box being loaded at a time or faster loading that should be an enhancement we can put together quickly. So I would suggest that you try out designer and post your thoughts on it here. If it satisfies your needs then that will be great. If not then we can see what we can do about helping you out either with designer tweaks or maybe even bringing tag streamer from the dead. Also we will have a new release of our emulator tomorrow with a vastly improved LLRP reader (almost fully EPC Global compliant). It usually takes us a few more days for the user docs to trickle out but you should give that a try if you wish to do any serious LLRP testing.
