Hi Sebastien, 1. I haven't changed anything. I'm a regular, not very technical user, and wouldn't even know about those config options or what they do, but when I opened the config.yml file, I only have 'hostname: bootstrap.ring.cx'. I'll change it to what you say it should be, and see what happens.
2. I thought I did, I havent provided enough details about the situation initially, my recollection wasn't clear when I wrote the email, thinking back now, I can add that all of this started on Nov 29th, I updated my system as usual, then when I tried, I couldn't launch Ring from the Gnome search box. Starting from the terminal worked fine, but when I called a contact, the connection status circle wasn't spinning, it might have been at first- it escapes me now, it was frozen still and the call didn't complete. So I shut down the program, and later, it wouldn't run at all. Is there a command that can be issued from the terminal to stop any and all active calls, interesting how a call can remain in progress without the program running ? 3. I wouldn't know, but anyone else reading this, who understands it, can find it useful to have this info. Thank you for looking into this. Keep up the good work, the Jami team. Mmh there is different weird things here: 1. `2200|ringaccount.cpp :2007 ] Error registering DHT account: Error: `bootstrap.ring.cx:`: Name or service not known` Did you play with the config? Can you get your `~/.local/share/ring/*/config.yml` and see if something is wrong here? It should be `bootstrap.ring.cx:4222` 2. `2121|manager.cpp :1678 ] Call is NULL` (leading to the assert failure) It seems you have a call when launching the daemon. Should not be the case. Do you have an idea where it does come from? 3. `ASSERT: "false" in file /opt/ring-packaging/ring-project/lrc/src/callmodel.cpp, line 440` Note: this is an old file. And a patch is currently on the gerrit but not ready to merge.
