Hi,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we just merged into master the ability to
create conferences via the Ring GNOME user interface. Assuming that audio/video
calls work well for you already you should now be able to create conferences
between multiple existing calls of any kind (Ring, SIP, ip2ip). You can start a
conference by making two separate calls and then dragging and dropping one call
onto the other (in the Conversations view on the left). You can then add more
participants by making more calls and then also dragging and dropping them onto
the conference item in the view. Note that only the person creating the
conference can "manage" it as his Ring is effectively combining the incoming
video, audio, and chat of the other participants and re-sending it to everyone.
We have tested with up to 5 or 6 participants. There is a theoretical limit but
in practice it mostly depends on the power of the "conference master's" machine
and the resolution of the video of each participant.

Another small change is that we moved the chat pane from the bottom of the
video to the right, by default. However, if you prefer the old configuration
you can go into the Settings and select "Show chat on the bottom".

The conference feature along with some other user interface changes should be
available in the nightly releases tomorrow morning (well, technically sometime
after midnight (GMT -5) when the packaging builds complete.
