Quand j'exécute les commandes présentées par le site ring.cx pour installer 
sous Ubuntu 16.04 :

sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://nightly.apt.ring.cx/ubuntu_16.04/ ring main' > 
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ring-nightly-man.list"
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys

sudo add-apt-repository universe
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ring-gnome

J'ai :
