Well, you can currently create contacts by right clicking on conversations with people who are not in your contacts yet and choosing "add to contacts". This will allow you to either create a new contact or add the number/ringID to an existing one. You can also choose which addressbook to add to, though I think there are a few bugs if you try to add to an addressbook other than your local ones (eg: if you have your online accounts configured, google address book fails to actually save the contact ). > How are contacts going to be handled in the future? Right now the profiles are received as vCards and saved in ~.local/share/gnome-ring as vCards. > My main block is with adding contacts. We are working right now on "trust requests" (or contact requests if you wish). There are actually already options in the advanced account settings for Ring accounts if you want to receive calls from unknown peers or not. Since we haven't yet implemented trust requests, it is on by default currently, or else you won't be able to receive calls from new peers. In the future though, when someone first wants to communicate with you, they will send you a trust request which will also contain their profile and you will first have to approve the communication (at least, this will be the default). -stepan _______________________________________________ Ring mailing list Ring@lists.savoirfairelinux.net https://lists.savoirfairelinux.net/mailman/listinfo/ring
