Hello! I have noticed talks about text message encryption and offline messaging here. OTR, which is supported by some XMPP clients, was mentioned.
Having recently somewhat investigated XMPP, I found out about a newer protocol, which is supposed to function better than OTR, supporting multiple devices and offline messaging. I am aware that Ring (I think) does not use XMPP, but I thought this may be of interest to someone, in case they're not already familiar with it.
