Dear colleagues, Ondřej Filip has been appointed Chair of the RIPE NCC Executive Board following Christian Kaufmann’s decision to step down as Chairman.
Ondřej will serve as Chair from 1 September. He has served on the Board for three years and as Treasurer since 2020. Over the course of his career, he has served on the boards of many Internet-related bodies and has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Christian, who has served as Chairman for four years and as a Board member since 2011, is officially stepping down in September after being selected to serve a three-year term on Seat 10 of the ICANN Board of Directors. To enable a smooth transition, a new Chair has been appointed to allow for a transfer period and Christian will remain a member of the RIPE NCC Executive Board until his term ends in May 2023. With Ondřej’s appointment as Chair, Raymond Jetten will become Treasurer. Piotr Strzyżewski remains as Secretary and Remco van Mook remains as NRO EC representative, while Maria Häll becomes the Community Projects Fund representative. I would like to thank Christian for his work as RIPE NCC Executive Board Chairman and for his time and dedication in serving as a Board member for over a decade. And I look forward to continuing to have an excellent relationship with Ondřej and the rest of the Board.
