Well, data IS data.  :)

By default, SlimServer will convert WAV data to FLAC before streaming to Squeezebox2 anyway (to reduce bandwidth and improve reliability of playback), so unless you tweak the settings, you are going to be streaming FLAC anyways.

There is no evidence that the conversion process between FLAC and WAV introduces any audible artifact and given the tagging and storage benefits and reduction of CPU and bandwidth requirements, I think that FLAC is an obvious choice.
