I used this excellent setup page (http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/EAC/index.html), exactly as he suggested, and it is working perfectly for me. The instructions aren't just for MusePack, if you scroll down the page then it tells you what 3 steps you need to do differently for FLAC. I copied and pasted the FLAC command line string straight from the web page into the EAC configuration setting and it worked perfectly first time.
I _think_ I am also getting the FLAC files tagged correctly (like you, looked up in EAC from freedb). SoftSqueeze and SlimServer are able to browse by artist and album so I assume it is picking up this info from tags in the FLAC files but if I open a FLAC file using FLAC Front End then it shows the tags as all blank which is rather strange. Is it possible that my FLAC files aren't being tagged and that SlimServer is inferring the information from my directory structure? Right now I have top level directories called "<Artist> - <Album name>" and in the directories I have files "<Track Number> - <Track Name>.FLAC". Can Slimserver deduce the album and artist names from this or is the fact that it can browse by artist and album evidence that, despite what Flac Front End is telling me, the files really are tagged? - Julian -- JulianL _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
