Assuming you are using Windows, and assuming your music (if you have any
already) is in the standard Windows location, type in exactly:

C:\My Documents\My Music

into the Music Folder blank space. Then click the Change button to the
right of that space.

If you have not ripped (copying tracks from CDs) or stored any music on
your computer, you will not have anything yet to play locally, so you
will have to put some music onto your computer. ( Alternatively, you
can play remote internet music broadcasts ). Windows Media Player
comes with a couple of demo songs - perhaps those will be there for you
to try.

After you've properly set your Music Folder, at the bottom of the same,
there should be a Rescan button. Click that, and slimserver will look
in the Music Folder for any music.

Lacking other details about your system, I've had to assume a lot. See
if this helps put you in the right direction.
