hi alex,

the paths as seen from my NAS box all start with:

/c/media/Music/

because that is the hard-coded value that infrant assigns to the the
"share" of the disc space that holds music files for streaming.

since i NFS mount the NAS box, from my pc, the paths all start with:

/music

so, thanks to the fine folks who have posted with excellent
suggestions, i need to substitute all "/music" strings in the database
with "/c/media/Music". then, i can create the database on the pc, make
the substitutions, and upload the new database to the NAS box.

and, let me take this opportunity to say Thank You to everyone who has
offered up an idea! i'll play around with the database, and see which
one (or combination) of ideas is easiest to deal with. :) i
appreciate your thoughtful answers very much!

best regards,
-sherm
