I have been automated ripping (http://chairthrower.org/blog/) for about 6 weeks now, and a few of my CDs got tagged wrong (usually CD singles with 1 or 2 tracks, since freedb uses track timings there's multiple hits, and since it's automated it picks the first one. There's also some annoying typos, inconsistencies in nomenclature for multiple CD sets, etc. in the freedb service.)
I usually notice these when I'm browsing the collection either in the web interface or the Squeezebox2 itself, and I wish there was a way to just edit the tags right then and there. My question is: How hard would it be to build this functionality into SlimServer? I'm assuming it'd be an edit to the skins to allow a tag editing form for a track, and knowing to call the appropriate tagging program for the file type (id3v2, flac, etc.) I suppose it should edit the music library as well at that point. I'd like to make a stab at it, but I'm looking for some advice on if people even think it's feasible, and then if it's a feature people would like or use. -- mrfantasy _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
