I have downloaded some music from ITunes. I wanted to play these tunes on my SqueezeBox, so I selected the option to convert selcted track to Apple Lossless. My plan was then to use dbPoweramp to convert to either WAV or FLAC, but I got the message "could not convert because protected files can not be converted!!"
dbPoweramp did not read the MPEG4 Protected File either. I notice that MusicMatch Jukebox and Foobar2000 could not find these MPEG4 protected audio files either. Are there any applications out there other than ITunes that can read these MPEG4 protected files? My only other option is to burn these tracks onto CD using ITunes and then rip them back to my hard drive ussing EAC/FLAC which seems a rather protracted way of doing it!!!! Makes me wonder if legal download sites aare worth using!!!!
