I am unable to listen to FLAC files if bitrate limiting is in effect.
WAV files get transcoded properly, so it's not LAME that's at fault;
likewise, if bitrate limiting is off, FLAC files are decoded to PCM
just fine. It's the combination that's not working.

My setup --
Players: 1 SBG, 1 SB2
Server:  400MHz Pentium II, 384Mb ram, Win98
Version: 6.2.0 or 6.1.1 (same problem with both versions)

Slimserver was actually installed on my WinXP laptop, then copied to
the Win98 machine, since the installer no longer works for Win98.

When I first ran version 6.2 on the Win98 machine, Slimserver didn't
crash when playing FLACs; instead, I got the "Cannot open file for..."
message on the player and it skipped to the next track. Then I
discovered that the bin folder hadn't been copied with the rest of the
server files, and when I corrected that, the crashing reappeared.

Here's the tail end of the log file with d_formats and d_source enables
(dates edited out, and wrapped for clarity):
