I used Pat's flac2mp3 perl script and it worked great. I just pointed it at my root music directory, and it created a mirror directory with all my FLAC files in decent quality MP3s.
If you go this route, be sure to use the latest version of LAME, which has a very good alrogithm for variable bit rate encoding. This works by assigning a higher bit rate to those parts of the song that need it, and a lower bit rate to those that don't.
