Firstly, hello all. Long time user (I've just ordered my 4th and 5th 'Box) first time poster.
I was just wondering, probably more specific to Mac users, who uses iTunes within slimserver and have you tried *not* using it and do you notice any differences? Specifically I'm interested in your experiences for adding/importing/ripping new songs as this is something I've had a lot of trouble with recently (there's a bug about it which will save me explaining a lot - http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2410) I've kind of found a work around for if I want to rip a new CD; 1 - I've got "Use iTunes" set to "Yes" and the refresh timing set to 60 2 - Stop the server 3 - Rip the CD 4 - Restart the server 5 - within 60 seconds, the server has reloaded the iTunes database and the album is ready to play on the 'Box, more importantly, with no missing songs. What do other people do?
