OK - I accept the challenge.

I have a cd of organ works which is really badly damaged at one point
on the circumference of the disc - it had slipped in the case and I
managed to catch it in the jaws of the case as I shut it. Not only are
there two deep parallel indentations about an 1/8 inch in length at the
circumference, but the edge of the disc is also buckled at this point.
It is so badly damaged that the last three tracks won't play on my cdp
without making horrible noises. So - a good candidate to test error
correction - do you agree?

I intend doing a number of rips of the last, and worst damaged track of
this disc using both EAC and dBPoweramp, on both the LG HL-DT-ST CD-RW
GCE-8160B and LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4136B drives in my PC.

Tomorrow I will post the status and error messages reported by the two
programs, and any audible errors I detect while listening via the
squeezebox, as it's now too late at night to do the listening tests.
