Never mind. Got FLAC plugged in and doing the autoconvert. Everything works like a champ.
EAC->FLAC is definitely the way to go. Great sound quality. I followed exactly the instructions here - http://users.pandora.be/satcp/eac-qs-en.htm and it popped right off - no problems.
