You can afford 1300 albums but you can't afford the hard disk space to store them in Flac format? How large are the CDs? It should require a _lot_ less than a terrabyte of storage for 1300 albums unless they're all 70+ minutes in length.
The beauty of having your library in a lossless format (Flac, or any other, for that matter) is that you don't have to make a decision today and worry about which lossy format you'll be using two or three years from now. You can transcode the lossless files into whatever other format you need. If you don't go lossless you can bet you'll probably end up ripping those 1300 albums again some day. Your time alone should make ripping to lossless and buying the necessary hard disk space for storage and backup well worth it. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21739 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
