So no one else notices this? The more material out of my collection I play, the more I notice this. At first I thought it was an imbalance in my sound system but that's not it - the RG values are too small of an adjustment.
As soon as I hear a bass-heavy song I look at the RG data. Sure enough, it's -5 dB or something while most of the rest of my collection is at -8 to -10 dB. Every once in a while it's a ridiculous value, like -0.5 dB or + 0.5 dB, which is way too loud, forcing me to run for the remote just like before I used RG. I believe it's the algorithm because this problem is the same with both FLAC, calculated by the FLAC encoder, and MP3, calculated with MP3Gain. Far be it from me to find fault with the complex mathematics used in the RG algorithm, but this problem is repeatable for me. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23502 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
